A fabulous pair of antique regency elbow chairs with removable caned seats, most likely dating from the early to mid-19th century with evidence of production in either Japan or China though the exact origin and age is unknown. Markings on the inside of the seat frames are written in traditional Chinese characters common to China, Japan. Hong Kong and Taiwan.
