Large Smoked Glass Cascade Chandelier from Ott International, 1970s

This is a stunningly rare chance to purchase a unique 7 light cascading Solid Brass & Copper dyed hand blown Glass Chandelier purchased and owned by one person since bought in 1970; featuring beautiful crafted brass clasps, hand blown glass, brass highlighted aluminium ceiling rose & adjustable drop wires, this is a truly incredible piece.

Crafted in West Germany in the 1970s by acclaimed lighting architecture company OTT international, this chandelier was released as part of a small special collection with only 10 being made. The collection being so small allowed for the very best quality assurance; each shade is hand blown and given its delicate amber glow using molten copper dripped into it at heat, the brass clasps that sit inside the shade are beautifully finished & the brass motifs that sit on the anodised aluminium ceiling rose ooze style & attention to detail.

This immensely rare piece of late Midcentury modernist lighting architecture is a wonderful example of a culmination of years of ultra stylised design renown of OTT international paired with the immense attention to detail such a small collection receives. This piece would sit proud in any home and is an investment piece that will last and increase in value for many generations.

Excellent condition, this piece has had one owner since 1970, the hand blown glass shades are all immaculate unchipped or scratched or sun-damaged, the brass on the shades is excellent only minor areas of ageing, the anodisation on the aluminium is beautifully intact along with the brass motifs, this piece is PAT tested and comptable globally. Some marks commensurate with age
