Solid Formations No 5 sculptural lamp by Stine Mikkelsen Dimensions: 39 x 83 x 15 cm Materials: Composite material based on crushed granite and fish glue. The inner construction is polystyrene. Inspired by Italian geology, two new composite materials have been developed by the studio. Composites where respectively marble and volcanic ash are the primary materials. In this collection, the new materials are accompanied by a granite composite, previously used in the Tactile Monoliths collection. The shapes of the objects are inspired by the forces of nature and the contrast between the natural landscape and the geometric Formations created by humans in for instance quarries where natural resources are excavated.
