A pair of Swedish chairs made about 1800. There are two pairs, so it is possible to get a set of four.
Gustavian style was the leading style in Swedish architecture, decor and crafts during the Gustavian era, inspired by French Neoclassicism. The style was established in the 1780s. The period is named after King Gustav III of Sweden, who spent a great deal of time at Versailles in 1771. When he returned home to Sweden, he brought with him a love of French neoclassical style. Gustavian furnitures are very popular in especially England but also in France and in US.
