A tall Italian wooden storage and display cabinet from the early 18th century. This antique cabinet from Italy, which stands approximately 6.75 feet tall, has a flat top and upper section is fitted with a pair of wooden doors with spindle tops over lattice at door fronts, which open to reveal three shelves for displayed objects inside. Upon closer inspection, you will find that the wood framing and hardware is decorated with hand-punched floral carvings throughout. The mid-section has a pair of solid-wood doors, which when slid-outward (see additional images which show this feature), each have hidden storage within. The lower section houses a pair of planked-wood style doors, which open to reveal more hidden storage within this piece. The slender sides uniquely show the carved wooden pins which support the interior shelving- a fabulous touch of character! The original forged-iron hinges wrap from the door fronts to the sides. This cabinet is raised off of the ground, giving a airy space beneath it, upon a pair of rail-style feet. Please note, as one might expect from a piece this old, that there are some old repairs to the lattice and some small areas of wood loss. This wonderful early 18th century Italian cabinet has a shallow depth of only 12.5 inches, making it quite versatile, offering great storage and display options- perhaps the perfect piece for your kitchen or study!
