Original late 17th/ early 18th century large detailed Repoussé back plates designed with high relief of scrolling foliage and large sunflower heads. Original Iron Framework to the reverse. These sconces are handmade in brass and were originally created for churches across Europe, they would have held candles to light the building.
They have been electrified historically in the 19th Century. The lamp arms on the largest sconce are decorated with scrolling acanthus leaves, plain arms are seen on the smaller sconces
