A lovely, highly-detailed pair of French faience soup tureens, with handles, feet and nicely-sculpted vegetable decorated cover (18th century). The top cover has leeks, flowers and herbs, and the painted decoration on the sides includes shields with fleur-de-lis, surrounded by a gold chain. The pieces are marked underneath, “RD 1756″ (Veuve Perrin maker’s mark). Bought near Avignon, France. Diameter opening 7”
