An early 18th century French carved walnut armchair with hand-caned seat and back. The frame is constructed in the customary 18th c Louis XV manner with pinned mortise and tenon and is carved with a scrolled floral design and raised on cabriole legs with out-scrolled curved arms. A beautiful armchair with a generously sized seat that could sit at the head of the table for a gentleman or be used as an accent chair for a living room or bedroom.
