This rare early 19th century boot-scraper was created by the firm of Archibald Kenrick & Sons in England during the height of Napoleons reign in France. They are made of cast-iron and are in the Egyptian taste with a pair of flanking sphinxes supported on an egg-n-dart stylized border base.
The piece is marked with the foundry-mark on the underside (see photograph/image #10).
