Early 20th Century Limoges Pale Pink & Gold Trim Game Bird Platter & 12 Plates Set

This handmade porcelain service set for 12 diners represents Limoges at its finest. The detailed painting on each Game-bird and hunting themed plate and platter is remarkable. The very pale mauve-pink base hue of the set contrasts beautifully with the strong hunters theme that includes birds of prey in detailed natural setting featured at center surrounded by an ornamentation of classic European countryside hunting paraphanelia such as horns, guns, sacks, antlers, water canteens, etc. The texture of the plates is petal-like with flowing ridges and each of the 12 plates and one platter is heavily gilt at the rim. The large serving platter has two handles. The 12 plates include two plates with brightly-plumed birds, probably for the host and hostess at table. The condition of these antiques is flawless.
