An Italian pair of hand-forged floral iron prickets on carved wood bases, with their original painted finish, from the early 19th century. This antique large pair of prickets from Italy each feature beautiful forged and gilded iron shaped with florals and tied bows. The metal prickets are set into hand-carved wooden urn-shaped bases, adorn in various leaf carved trimmings. The prickets each have five sticks, consisting of 3 tiers, where candles were once placed. The finish and gilt are original to these pieces, though there have been some minor touch-ups over the years. They have a nice old patina. These early 19th century floral and urn prickets will bring a nice decorative accent to home, each standing just over 3 feet in height.
