Dutch 19th Century silver double miniature portrait frame.
A double portrait in a silver frame. On the back which is gilded with the text Souvenir 1820. Souvenir – or the meaning in the 19th century – a special memory. Oval-shaped frame with a silver crown on top with floral motif. In the oval 2 portraits of a couple in oval shape, surrounded with gilt edge and silver pearl edge. The edge of the frame surrounded with gadrooned motif and pearl edge. Can be used standing or hanging.
The silver is hallmarked with the Dutch “Sword” used during 1814-1906 and the master sign is partly faded.
The dimensions of the frame are 8 cm high, 11.5 cm wide and the depth is 8 cm when standing. (3.1 Inch, 4.5 Inch, 3.1 Inch)
