The plate is finely potted with a ribbed cavetto and frilled rim edge, with a carefully cut base rim and a lovely rich glassy, very light blue glaze.
This is a large plate at 11.25 inches (28.5 cm) diameter.
This large dish or deep plate is carefully hand-painted in a free flowing style, characteristic of the period, in varying shades of a clear cobalt blue. The central well is decorated in superb detail with a flower basket, all within two sets of concentric blue circles. The cavetto is richly decorated with aster flowers and flowering cherry, in a four section border between diamond diaper sections, all within an outer cross hatched blue circle.
The central base is unmarked.
There are also two long floral sprigs hand-painted around the base rim.
We date this plate or dish to circa 1730 within the Qing Yongzheng ( 1723-1735) period circa 1730 but could be late Kangxi.
Overall a good example of a Chinese deep Plate or Dish from the early 18th Century, when the quality of hand painting on Chinese porcelain was very good!.
