A lovely walnut and pollard oak Queen Anne period secretaire en abbatant circa 1710 -1720 .
This piece consists of a top frieze drawer, and a fall with drawers below. Inside the fall are 10 drawers and 3 sliding compartments. There are another three drawers behind the inner door and it has an adjustable writing slope.
Four long drawers make up the main carcass. All drawers have oak linings which is a sign of quality.
The two secret drawers are well concealed one being inside the internal door the other behind the internal bottom left drawer.
This piece has a good overall finish and colour and would grace any home.

Condition:GoodReplacements made: feet and handles done some time ago.and possibly some back boards probably a 100 years ago. Repaired: this piece is in good condition it has later handles which are in keeping with the period and the feet have been replaced at some time but are exactly in keeping with the with what should be there. These are very common repairs and are quite normal. Wear consistent with age and use.
