Simple and elegant table hand-crafted in Italy in the early 1700s using walnut and dovetailed construction. This is a beautiful specimen of early tables built to last centuries. Don’t even get me started on those dovetails; they are the headliners of the show: large, hand-made and oh so precise! The table features a two-board top with ogee edges and rounded corners, nailed to a beautiful straight apron showing dovetail joints at the corners. The apron is decorated by a thin angular molding at its base. The table sits on four tapered legs with arrow feet.
The table has a very simple, yet sophisticated look. Although linear in appearance, there are several details that add depth and sets it apart from others. The table is of a medium size, which makes it very versatile because it could work well as a sofa table, a console table or a writing table, if that is what you are looking for. It has a small footprint, but plenty of surface are to use as a writing surface or work on a computer.
