Very fine 17/18thC heavy Tibetan Bodhisattva from my 30-year personal collection. The warm rosy glow of the surface, the softness of the metal, and its incredible weight point to their being precious metal mixed into the alloy (likely a good amount of gold in this statue according to one expert in Gilded Tibetan and Mongolian bronzes who recently examined it). The rich alloy gives the thickly cast statue a unique look. It has been in the group of favorite pieces I am offering for sale just now for the first time as I near retirement. my all-time best. 6.25 inches tall – 9461.
